So, this is it. K has ended her nursing sessions at 17 months and 4 days. The last couple of months prior to her quits, she had only nursed in the mornings after waking up. She skipped a few mornings here and there, and if I hadn't reminded her the next morning, she wouldn't have asked for it.
Ending breastfeeding was a very natural process for us. And although K doesn't even mention it any more, I miss it tremendously.

Wow, what a big transition! Sounds like it went wonderfully though (at least for K! :)
ps LOVE her sweet sundress!
Congrats and condolences, mama! Audrey has the same dress! Actually, we intended to have her wear it when we had family pictures taken recently. She was happy to put it on--but then she insisted on wearing pants underneath it. After some intense negotiations, she agreed to exchange the pink polka dot pants that she had selected for a khaki pair of her parents' choosing. (I guess it's a successful compromise when no one's thrilled with the result, but everyone can live with it?) :-)
You will always "nurse" her, just without milk. Actually, it is quite possible she may need to nurse some time in the future...a head bump, a scare or just to connect. You never know. Some fellow LLL moms have thought a little one had weaned only to have them come back in 2 months and actually nurse...and get milk!
